We should attach to the perioral region and the oral cavity a special importance, because a huge number of diseases induce symptoms in this area. The general examination is essential for the finding of the patients diagnosis. Above all minor changes are missed in the hectic daily routine. This article should help the practising doctor to find the right diagnosis of pediatric illnesses with oral manifestations.
