Abstract

Adaptation of prosthetics using a manualtherapeutischen treatment

Dr. Ulf Gärtner, Werner Röhrig
The bones of the cranium have a proper motion of up to 3 millimetres. Hence an influence of the anotomical structures will occur through artificial dentition over the occlusion/articulation and over the temporomandibular joint. To carry out the artificial dentition without such negative effects, it is necessary to conduct a substantiated examination in order to find out whether or not and to what degree a skull-dorsal based correct bissposition should be arranged with the aid of a combined therapy between dentist and manual therapist,. The temporomandibular joints can be corrected with the help of a splint and a manual therapy. If an artificial dentition should be necessary hereafter this has to occur in collaboration with the dentist and the manual therapist to achive the desired result.
